article

This article was very informative of why certain designs are considered ruined. Driving is a hard task without being detracted by showy designs. It's bad enough people get distracted by bill boards on 55. The designers of traffic signs should take these facts into consideration. The originality of the designs were due the way on purpose they are supposed to be quick and easy to understand. They shouldn't be changed to be more complicated.

ME

This is my second semester in college, I am from Franklinville, and I chose to major in graphic design since the world revolves around technology it would be nice to be able to create my artwork on a computer. I like to be outside, on a boat fishing, in the woods hunting, so i get inspired to draw a lot of landscapes and animals, but have helped in designing t-shirts, pins, and a website logo.
I wanted to take this class because I would like to freelance in my own designing company. I like the idea of designing logos. The challenge of forming the image that another person has in their mind for a company or shirt interests me a lot.
In high school I didn't know what I wanted to do exactly. I got into drafting, which led me to computer aided drafting. I took these classes all four years in high school. I took AP studio art and spent most of high school in my art class.
My favorite logos are nike, and underarmour. I like the fact that someone came up with a swoosh and it became famous. These are what I've always worn and they grew on me. I think the underarmour design is very different, but simple.
My favorite artist is probably Andy Warhol. He took simple things that you saw everyday and made them stand out to the world.
Outside of class We have three laptops and a desktop. I have a Mac and my mom and sister have hp laptops.
An interesting story would probably be in high school when I first got into drafting. My teacher was very laid back and cool. He always picked on me because I was the only girl he had for 3 years. Well when he first started etching me it was all on the computer where you just typed in the measurements and it did it for you. One day we had to do it on paper and he handed me a ruler and I had no idea how to read it. To this day he won't let me live it down
